Frequently Asked Questions

You get to relax.  We are here to serve you.  Your therapist will help you with the health assessment and help you plan your therapy.  Please feel free to ask questions.  You will be shown to your therapy room where a freshly prepared & comfortable massage table awaits you.  Then all you need do is relax.  Enjoy the atmosphere of your room.  Experience the relief that massage therapy provides.

Comfortable clothing is best.  You will be asked to remove all clothing except undergarments.  You will be covered with clean sheets.  Even our most modest clients feel comfortable very quickly because of the professional attitude of our staff.

Some of our clients just close their eyes and rest.  Please feel free to let your therapist know if this is preferred.  Others like to chat.  There really isn’t any right or wrong way to take in a massage.  Unless you’re looking for something completely unrelated to massage therapy

Great!  Clients report feelings of deep relaxation, looseness in the limbs, neck & shoulders, a feeling of lightness, increased circulation and warmth, a lack of tension/worry and a general feeling of well-being.

The frequency of your therapy sessions depends a lot on you and what you are trying to accomplish.  Some clients choose once per month, others once per week.  For others, a massage is something they “treat” themselves to whenever they can.  If you wish you could get a massage more often, why not let friends and family know that you’d like a certificate as a birthday or holiday gift.

We encourage you to speak freely and candidly with your therapist during the session.  Your therapist will adjust pressure, avoid tender areas or concentrate on specific areas if you so request.  Because our therapists have been trained to focus on RELIEF, it is rare that discomfort will be part of your experience.

We ask our clients to give us 24 hours notice should they need to cancel or reschedule.  This is to allow us time to fill your appointment space or to help us avoid turning other customers away due to lack of availability.  Since our massage therapists time is valuable to them and they are not on salary, late fees are charged to clients who cancel with short notice (less than 24 hours) or do not show up for their appointment.

If you know that you are running late, please phone ahead.  Regardless, the therapist will give you as much time as they can, but may not be able to give you a full session.  Please understand that our therapists may have other clients or appointments scheduled immediately behind yours.

Your massage therapist will ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire so that they can assess any injuries, discomforts or health concerns you may have.  They will work with you and suggest therapy options until you decide on a comfortable plan.  During the session we encourage you to talk openly with your therapist about any concerns that may arise.  Your therapist can increase or decrease pressure and/or concentrate more on certain areas or muscle groups.
